Homemade Hats for Rowland Students
hats
Second graders in Mrs. Jennifer DiFrancesco’s classroom at Rowland Elementary are wearing cozy and colorful knit caps this winter thanks to the generosity of their teacher’s mother, Mrs. Six. This marks the second year in a row that Mrs. Six has donated her creativity and talents on behalf of students at Rowland. Last year, students in Mrs. DiFrancesco class, as well as some of Miss Thompson’s students received homemade knit caps. During the ongoing pandemic, Mrs. Six made it her “COVID task” to knit together hats once again, making sure to include different sizes for students who have braids. Both Mrs. DiFrancesco and her sister, a fellow teacher at another school, received this year’s batch of new youth-sized hats. The students were very excited to receive and show off their new hats this winter. On behalf of the SEL Schools, thank you to Mrs. Six for her generous and thoughtful support of our students!
