Brush Students Showcase Performing Arts Talents, Entertain Senior Citizens
lunch

The seasonal sights and sounds of Brush High School performing arts talent were alive and on full display earlier in the week, as the High School Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Band performed for senior citizens at the South Euclid Community Center. Through an ongoing relationship with the Community Partnership on Aging, the Brush High School performers entertained senior citizens during their annual holiday luncheon and gift go-around. Superintendent Linda N. Reid delivered opening remarks and then introduced the Chamber Orchestra, which performed a half dozen traditional holiday songs, including God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Joy to the World and others. The Jazz Band, appropriately named The Jazz Effect, then took center stage, and got the audience tapping their feet and swaying to the rhythmic seasonal melodies and other jazz tunes. Where Chamber Orchestra featured Violin, Viola, Cello and uptight Bass, the Jazz Band showcases saxophone, trumpets, trombones, keyboards and more! More than 20 Brush High students participated in this year's annual performance! Thank you to everyone involved!
