I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Students and families from Adrian, Rowland, and Sunview Elementary Schools attended a Drive Through Ice Cream Social event at their respective buildings from 5:30 – 6:30 PM on Wednesday, September 2nd, where they had the opportunity to meet their building principals, pick-up important instructional materials and enjoy a delicious ice cream treat. The simultaneous events were made possible with the generous support of each elementary school’s PTA and SEL’s Office of Family and Community Engagement. Families entered the school’s parking lot at the designated time based on their child’s alphabetical last name. While remaining in their vehicles, families received a friendly greeting by staff members wearing required face coverings and ready to assist with the distribution of important materials. Items included Chromebooks, bookbags and other instructional resources. Assistant Superintendent - Student Services and Strategic Partnerships Melissa Thompson, and Family and Community Engagement Coordinator Maleeka Bussey were also present to assist with the materials drop-off. Families also had a chance to meet their building’s principal, which includes new Rowland Principal Ms. Dawn Imler, Sunview Principal Mrs. Arika Taylor, and Adrian Principal Mr. Ken Lasky. Students and families showed their appreciation with smiles and waves. Thank you to the Adrian, Sunview, and Rowland PTA groups for their support to make this event possible!
