The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools formally welcomes Mr. Matthew Bryan as the incoming principal of Memorial Junior High School. Mr. Bryan replaces Dominick Kaple, who has joined the Central Office team in the SEL Schools as Assistant Superintendent. Matthew Bryan brings an extensive level of experience to Memorial Junior High having served in administration for the past 7 years as a Building Principal, including most recently as an Intermediate School (Grades 4-5) Principal in the Streetsboro School District and Maple Heights City Schools. He also served as Dean of Students at a PreK-5 building in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina. Prior to this, Mr. Bryan taught high school civics and economics in the classroom. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Education, a Master’s in School Administration, Superintendent’s Licensure and completed the First Ring Leadership Academy program for School Administrators.

Mr. Bryan credits his own educational experience for the basis of his career pursuits, citing his own history teacher as having a formative influence in guiding and mentoring his professional endeavors.

He intends to build on the strong culture and climate at Memorial and very much looks forward to interacting with the staff and students within the building. He believes listening to stakeholders is a great first step to obtaining valuable feedback. Mr. Bryan is very excited for this opportunity and is aligned with the vision of the SEL Schools to be The Destination School Community. On behalf of everyone in the South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools, welcome Mr. Matthew Bryan! Go Arcs!
