Boys Basketball

Boys Basketball will host Glenville on Saturday night at 7pm in Welser Gym. Glenville enters the game as the #6 seed in the Euclid District, they finished the season with a 17-5 record including 12-1 in the Senate, falling in the City Championship to East Tech in early February. The Arcs enter the game with a 18-4 record and were the WRC outright champions. They’re led by sophomore DJ Dial, he averaged 15 points per game this season for the Arcs and has 642 career points after two seasons. The winner of Saturday’s game will advance to the District semifinal on Thursday (3/9) against the winner of Mentor-Mayfield.

Girls Basketball

Girls Basketball season ended in the District Semifinals on Monday night with a close loss to Euclid, 43-42. The girls finished the season with a 20-5 record including 13-1 in the WRC, earning the outright league title. The 20 wins ties the school record set in 2009-2010. Arielle DeBase and DaJamia Martin have been chosen to play in the Ohio Varsity Senior All-Star Game, while junior Danajah Sanders and sophomore Jenna Perry will play in the Ohio Varsity Underclassman Showcase.

Girls Bowling

Girls Bowling finished 11th this past weekend at the District tournament held the AMF Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton. Senior Jamie Perry was able to advance as an individual with a three-game series of 556 including the second highest game of the day with a 222 in Game 3. She will compete in the State Tournament on March 10 at Wayne Webb Lanes in Columbus. She is the third straight Arc to make a trip to Columbus, Trenton Miller in 2015 and Amanda Arth in 2016.

Hockey

Chris Lillstrung of the News-Herald wrote a follow-up about the reaction of the Greater Cleveland Hockey community following the passing of Alec Kornet.

Indoor Track

Congrats also goes out to juniors Jasmyn Allen and Quentin Woodall who qualified for the OATCCC Indoor Meet this Saturday. They will both compete in the 60 Hurdles. See article for more details.

Wrestling

Senior Nolan Washington advanced to the District Tournament this Friday at Mentor High School. He finished second at the Sectional Tournament last weekend.
