Brush Juniors Participate in Leadership Training
first

Brush High School juniors Iyana Howell, Nina Greene and Noah Turoff were chosen to participate this year in the First Ring Student Leadership Institute (FRSLI). This opportunity provided them with the training, experiences and opportunities to become change leaders in their school and community. Mr. John Bottar, STEM Lab teacher at Adrian Elementary, was nominated by Superintendent Reid to participate in the First Ring Leadership Academy (which ran concurrently with the FRSLI) and served as their mentor as the Brush student leaders conducted an action research project that focused on Cyber Bullying. Brush Mathematics teacher, Mrs. Jen Tatman (a former participant in the First Ring Leadership Academy), accompanied the students to each of the work sessions and provided logistical support and additional mentoring. The student leaders presented their research findings to First Ring superintendents and principals this past Friday at the Woodside Party Center in Broadview Heights.
