Third Graders Focus on Test Preparation
3rd Grade Prep for AIR Test
During the week of November 1st, 2021, third graders at Adrian Elementary School took the AIR Reading Test, a state test which helps measure student progress towards gaining the knowledge and skills listed in Ohio’s Learning Standards. Students demonstrated a great deal of initiative, focus, and hard work in the weeks leading up to the two-day testing period. In preparation, students identified and practiced key strategies to help them be successful. Examples included reading the questions first to know what to expect in the story, double checking their answers, reviewing the story to identify text evidence, and reading the selection several times. As a result, students felt more prepared and confident while taking the AIR test and gained effective skills that will help them learn the rest of the school year.
