MJH Students Participate in Patriot’s Pen Contest

Seventh and eighth grade students at Memorial Junior High demonstrated their writing skills and patriotism by participating in the VFW’s (Veterans of Foreign Wars) annual Patriot’s Pen Youth Essay Contest. Local VFW Post #7536 served as the local sponsor for the writing competition which asked participating students to create an essay based on this year’s theme of “The America I Believe In.” Students were given a certificate and prizes from VFW Post #7536 for their impressive written contributions. Alaina Appline’s essay received first place and will advance to the VFW District competition. Congratulations to the students below for their excellent submissions on behalf of the VFW’s 2021 Patriot’s Pen Youth Essay Contest!
