Brush Seniors Visit MAGNET
mag
College and Career Pathways Specialist, Eddie Hall recently escorted a group of 23 Brush seniors to The Manufacturing and Growth Network (MAGNET). Students learned about local career opportunities in manufacturing while making cookie cutters from sheet metal and designing, building, and racing electronic cars.  For students who are interested, the next step is to apply to MAGNET's three-week ACCESS to Manufacturing Careers program where they can earn $14/hour to learn career readiness and technical skills to get an entry level manufacturing job with the potential to grow in the company. Job interviews are scheduled at the end of the program and most participants are offered employment. These careers include machine programming, welding, robotics, and machine repair and maintenance.  For more information contact Nettie King ([email protected]).
