Congratulations to Brush senior Marlon Barnes who made his commitment to play basketball at the University of Pittsburgh in the fall of 2023 official during a special signing ceremony in the Media Center on Wednesday, November 9th. Marlon was joined by his family, Head Coach Chet Mason, teammates, and Brush staff to celebrate his proud accomplishment. During brief remarks, Marlon expressed gratitude to his family for their continued support as well as to Coach Mason and the rest of the coaching staff for helping him to grow and prepare for the collegiate level. Marlon becomes the second Brush boys basketball player to commit to Pitt, and will join former teammate and current Panther standout, John Hugley. Although currently undecided, Marlon expressed interest in possibly pursuing a sports-related major during his undergraduate studies.
For the upcoming season, Marlon shared that the main goal is to help the Arcs win a state championship by continuing to improve as an individual player and helping to make his teammates better also.
