The M.J.H.S. basketball and cheerleading Teams held a fundraiser to help support the MJH sports programs on Friday, February 24, 2023.
The first annual 2023 "Basketbrawl" was the equivalent of an intersquad basketball game for both the boys and girls programs. Our boys team coaches, Coach Bruce and Coach Frost, drafted combined teams of 7th and 8th graders who played against each other. The girls programs led by Coach Wilson and Coach West did the same.
Keeping the hype all night long was D.J. Lily Jade and the cheer squad led by Coach Efford performed throughout the evening as well, with special pop-up performances by MJH staff members. A special appearance was also made by SEL girls travel basketball teams from Greenview who played throughout the evening. The event was a wonderful way to end the winter season along with a fantastic opportunity for SEL students to come out and have some fun while raising money for their school sports programs.
Due to the strong turnout, MJH hopes to host more similar events in the future. Special thanks to MJH staff performers for volunteering their time, Lee Heitman from the Transportation department for managing ticket sales and MJH PTA for opening the concession stands for this amazing school event!
