As a culminating learning experience for Black History Month, Sunview Elementary School hosted a Black History Musical on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The program was coordinated by Music Teacher Mrs. Carol Spackey and featured the talented voices of Sunview 2nd graders who performed a variety of African-rooted, spiritual and freedom songs. Portions of the program included instrumental performances by students on xylophones and African drums. Sunview Intervention Specialist Assistant Mr. Brandon Hatchette was featured as a soloist on one of the selections as well. Overall, the Black History Musical was an engaging way to celebrate and remember the history and contributions of African-Americans throughout United States history. Thank you to the teachers, students and staff who contributed to such a wonderful production!
