Start with Hello Week at Rowland

During the week of March 4th to March 8th, Rowland students and staff enthusiastically launched Start with Hello Week at our school, joining a national movement aimed at fostering new social connections and nurturing a sense of belonging among young people. In Mrs. Hallam's ARC Connections class, students remained dedicated to the mission of reducing social isolation and promoting inclusivity and empathy within their peer group. One of the highlights of the week was a "get to know you better" activity, where students were paired randomly with classmates with whom they might not typically engage. It was heartening to witness students enthusiastically interacting with their new partners, breaking down barriers and forming connections across diverse social circles. The activity was met with overwhelming positivity and excitement, demonstrating the profound impact of intentional efforts to cultivate a culture of inclusivity and camaraderie within our school community. Such initiatives not only enrich individual experiences but also contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our collective school environment, fostering empathy, understanding, and a sense of belonging among all students.
