Mike Fording Mural Forever Posted in Brush High School in Memoriam of our Principal and Friend

The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools will forever remember the kind, compassionate, and eternally warm presence of our beloved late principal, Mike Fording, hanging a mural of his likeness in the hallway at Charles F. Brush High School. Artfully and lovingly painted by students, staff, and other members of the SEL Schools family, the mural hangs next to the existing murals of President Barack Obama, and celebrities Halle Berry and Drew Carey, outside the media center at Brush. Proposed by senior Danny Sudberry, members of the school immediately began working on the various tiles that comprise the mural, following the sad news of the passing of Mr. Fording, after his courageous battle with cancer. Created in Mrs. Curry’s art room, students, administrators, board members, the kitchen crew, custodial staff, and teachers from other schools stopped by to paint one or more 2" squares. Those doubting their artistic skills allowed their love for Mr. Fording to conquer their fear. Mr. Fording’s legacy of kindness and love for his students and staff will forever be memorialized in this creative and collaborative mural, enshrining his memory for generations to come. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this tribute meaningful and successful.
