Brush Hosts Youth Basketball Camp

Brush Hosts Youth Basketball Camp

Last Wednesday, new Boys Basketball coach Chet Mason kicked off a new era of Brush Boys Basketball by hosting a FREE Youth Basketball camp for boys and girls in grades 4-8. The camp was held on the final day of school, when most kids run out the doors to summer break. This was not the case for nearly 90 campers who attended the three-hour camp! Coach Mason was joined by his new staff and head girls basketball coach Rob Koelling and his staff, they put the athletes through six stations to increase fundamental skill level. Coach Mason and Coach Koelling also shared encouraging and educational remarks with the campers as well. This was a great first step for Coach Mason as he begins to build his program at Brush and as Coach Koelling continues to build on the successes of his first season.

Coach Mason was named Brush Boys Basketball Head Coach in May.  He spent the past 10 years playing professional basketball in Europe.  After being named Mr. Ohio Basketball in 2000, he went on to play for and graduate from Miami University.

Coach Mason is also somewhat a celebrity these days. Check out the story and video on cleveland.com.
