SCRATCH Programming

With Scratch, kids can program their own interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century. The ability to code computer programs is an important part of literacy in today’s society. When people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas. In Techie Club, students created 3 mini projects - adding an effect to an object, animating an object, and setting up a pong game.

Peanut Butter and Jelly - What a Computer Understands

Students learned in this most funny of ways that making a PB & J sandwich is not as simple as it seems. Olivia M. and Jonathan B. demonstrated that a computer can only do EXACTLY as it is told to.

Computer Exploration

In The PROgrammers Techie Club today, the students learned about the different components in a desktop computer. They also learned how to assemble the parts, then practiced taking a desktop apart and put it back together.
