Welcome and Meet the Principals

Welcome from Principal Fording

2022-2023 School Year

Winter 2023

Throughout Brush High School, a feeling of renewal and positive energy continues to move about the building in a positive direction. On behalf of the staff, thank you for the successful tone and self-motivation displayed on a regular basis, which demonstrates students’ deep desire to take ownership of their respective educational journeys.

Thank you for a positive first semester, where an emphasis was placed on embracing a safe and welcoming environment. Our students truly elevated their levels of kindness, positive decision-making, and building caring relationships. School spirit was highly recognizable as well, showing Arc pride at events, activities and assemblies. The staff at Brush High School will continue to hold high academic standards, and we know that students are quite capable of meeting, and exceeding, those expectations.

Looking ahead to the second semester, students are encouraged to become involved in the many opportunities offered at Brush, from co-curricular groups, student leadership activities, athletics and more. Investigate. Be proactive. You will find something that meets your interest, and we encourage you to get involved. We thank the families for their encouragement as well, as you are an integral piece in helping your child meet their potential.

Please mark your calendars for 1/16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, 2/20 for President’s Day, 3/13 when the 3rd Quarter ends, 3/16 and 3/23 for evening conferences, and spring break, which lasts from 3/27 until 3/31.

Also, as a reminder to parents, students can enter the school and sit in the cafeteria, supervised, beginning at 7 a.m. The first class begins promptly at 7:35 a.m. and we encourage every student to be on time. Please remember our partnership on this journey, and feel free to keep Brush staff informed of how we can provide supports so that students can succeed. Also, students must exit the building at dismissal unless participating in a supervised activity.

Finally, students will continue to be expected to be responsible for their own respective learning. Make the most of this time. Ask questions. Lead with respect and by example. Embrace differences and diversity. Please be on time for school, make positive choices and make every day count.

Let’s have a great 2nd semester!
