A Message from Superintendent Linda N. Reid

Welcome to the South Euclid Lyndhurst School District and our website. It is an honor and privilege to serve as Superintendent of the South Euclid Lyndhurst School District.  In the South Euclid Lyndhurst community, we take pride in our diversity, our excellent quality of life, and the success of our local schools. Our district is committed to bringing out the best in each and every child and recognizes that strong schools are the foundation of a strong community.

Our work together requires teamwork, dedication and collaboration. That collaboration extends beyond our school district staff and students to the entire community. We pride ourselves on engaging our community in creating a shared vision that will guide us on our journey. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff, and with the help and support of our community look forward to creating new levels of greatness.

Meet the Superintendent

Dr. Linda N. Reid is currently the Superintendent of South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools. This is her eleventh year in SEL after having served as Superintendent in Garfield Heights City Schools for three years. Her prior professional experience includes time as Assistant Superintendent, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Elementary School Principal, and Classroom Teacher. During her professional career she has experienced a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award, by the US Department of Education, and a “School of Promise” designation by the Ohio Department of Education. As superintendent she was also instrumental in the work done to successfully pass five school levies.

In the spring of 2020 Superintendent Reid received her Doctorate from Youngstown State University (Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership). She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Kent State University and her M.Ed. in Education Administration from John Carroll University. She received her Superintendent’s License from Cleveland State University. To further enhance her leadership skills she attended the prestigious Harvard Institute of School Leadership and is a graduate of Cleveland State’s First Ring Leadership Academy.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA), Alliance for High Quality Education and the Greater Cleveland School Superintendent’s Association (GCSSA). She is currently active in the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County’s Superintendents’ Roundtable and the First Ring Superintendents’ Collaborative, where she serves as a governing board member.

When she is not busy with work related activities she is busy enjoying her family. She is the mother of three adult children and six beautiful grandchildren. Last but certainly not least she enjoys her down time with John, her husband of 40 years.
