SEL’s Memorial Junior High School Gets A Visit From Cuyahoga County Judge Rini

Memorial Junior High School had the pleasure of hosting Judge Denise N. Rini from the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division this week. Judge Rini visited with Mr. Burkholder and Ms. Butler’s 8th grade Social Studies classes during the school day on Monday, December 5th.

The purpose of Judge Rini’s visit to Memorial Junior High was to educate our students on critical life lessons, important laws regarding juveniles and what to expect in the future. She expressed how an individual’s life can change in the blink of an eye if they make the wrong choice. The Judge also took this opportunity to guide the students in realizing their time to change for the better is now. Judge Rini made the point that at this critical age of adolescence, choosing your friends wisely is key! If you surround yourself with trouble and negativity it will absolutely affect you along the way. Promoting a positive, safe atmosphere is essential for everyone, especially our teens. SEL thanks Judge Rini for her time and expertise.
