Sunview Elementary School recently hosted its 3rd annual Career Day, by inviting eight professionals from a variety of sectors in to visit with students. Those professionals toured various classrooms and gave students a real-world application of the 21st century skills that they have been working on this school year, including communication, collaboration and effective listening. Students were quite inquisitive and eager to record new information in their Career Day Passports, another project that they have been working on throughout the year. Among the featured occupations were a chef with healthy treats, a meteorologist from WEWS, an accomplished musician from “Traces of Blue,” a banker from PNC Bank, a naturalist from the Cleveland Metro parks, two nurses from Cleveland Clinic, and a specialist from the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. In all, this was a very important learning experience and the SEL Schools would like to thank all of those who were involved with making this day a reality for the third consecutive year.
