Adrian PBIS Program has Students Striving for End of Year Excellence

Beginning in April, the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) at Adrian Elementary is encouraging students to do their best and achieve a strong finish during the last few weeks of the school year. As part of the “Strive For Excellence Everywhere” PBIS campaign, students are provided incentives in the form of tickets earned in-class and in the hallways for demonstrating positive behaviors. Students receive a ticket for positive actions such as encouraging and helping others, ignoring distractions, listening to classroom directions, finishing classroom assignments, being respectful and avoiding negative situations. All tickets are placed in buckets located in the main office. Up to 10 student winners are picked daily to win prizes such as small bouncy balls, yo-yos, pencils, jump rope sets and sidewalk chalk. On the last day of school, a drawing will be held to award large prizes such as bikes, gift cards to Toys R Us and local restaurants and a Cleveland Cavaliers yearbook. All prizes are donated by Adrian Elementary PTA and teachers. The district encourages all Adrian students to continue to work hard and ‘strive for excellence’ over the last few weeks of school!
