The South Euclid-Lyndhurst School District is proud to partner with AVI Foodsystems to provide a wide variety of healthy choices to support the growth of strong minds and bodies in our district.
Led by Executive Chef Kevin Needham, AVI Foodsystems creates well-balanced, nutritious meals, utilizing fresh, locally grown ingredients. Chef Needham works with his dedicated staff to promote healthy eating and exposing students to the nation’s culinary trends.
In 2010, SEL became the first district in Northeast Ohio to implement the Farm to Fork program, bringing fresh local produce into the cafeterias. The district's breakfast and lunch menus offer daily selections from the Farm to Fork program. This program was awarded a Model Practice Award in 2013 and a Promising Practice Award in 2012 by the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and has been featured at several state and local conferences. This program, combined with our breakfast in the classroom program for grades K-8 has attracted over $40,000 in food service grants over the past two years from Fuel Up to Play 60, Whole Foods and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.
