The Memorial Junior High School library will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair Tuesday, December 3 through Monday, December 9. Your child will attend the book fair with their Social Studies class. There will be books for all ages including preschool and adult, and many of the books will be value priced. This is a great opportunity for students to purchase reading material and to get some holiday shopping done! The South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools would like to formally congratulate Memorial Junior High School Principal Dominic Kaple on recently winning the Ohio Middle Level Regional Award from the Ohio Middle Level Association. Mr. Kaple was honored before a ballroom full of his peers at the annual OMLA Awards Reception that took place on November 7th and 8th in Columbus, Ohio. To earn the Regional Award, Mr. Kaple was nominated and won representing one of eight regions in the entire State of Ohio for demonstrating excellence and for overseeing an exemplary building with outstanding programs and activities for students.
8th grade social studies classes from Memorial Junior High School recently had the opportunity to participate in an engaging financial literacy and philanthropy focused field trip experience at the Cleveland History Center. Located in Cleveland’s University Circle, the Cleveland History Center is operated by the Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS). Titled Raising the Dough: How Entrepreneurs Support Communities, the program helped students study the economic, political and social history of Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood to gain a fuller understanding of the key factors and entrepreneurial spirit that contributes to a healthy community.
