To support U.S. troops and their families, as well as to promote a spirit of generosity, the staff, students and families at Sunview Elementary once again participated in the Stockings for Soldiers Campaign.  Students and staff were given the opportunity to take a stocking home and fill it with assorted items, such as batteries, toiletries, and non-perishable food items.  All holiday stockings were generously provided by DeJohn Funeral Homes and Crematory. Approximately 110 stockings were returned!  All stockings collected will be shipped to U.S. troops abroad or to area organizations which support soldiers and their families.  Way to go Sunview!

Sunview Elementary held a special assembly to celebrate the start of its 2017 Pennies for Patients campaign on Thurs., 11/16/17 in the school gym. Erin Zarancec from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society provided an engaging presentation, explaining how donations go a long way in helping individuals, including kids, who show courage every day in the fight against cancer. All proceeds benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Sunview has set a goal of raising $2,017 for this year’s campaign.  The first classroom to raise $750.00 will receive a special pasta luncheon from Olive Garden!  The SEL community is pleased to support this worthy cause for the 4th year in a row.

Brush Varsity Football Team Visits District Buildings in Advance of Playoff Game image Brush Varsity Football Team Visits District Buildings in Advance of Playoff Game

The entire Brush Varsity Football team and Varsity football cheerleading squad traveled by bus to each of the district’s school buildings on Friday, November 10th.  The visit was intended to provide students across the district a chance to meet and encourage the football team in advance of their next playoff game later that evening. Members of the cheerleading squad led the spirited procession into each building, and were followed by the football team along with Coach Fink and Mr. Baxter. Students and staff lined the hallways outside their classrooms, and demonstrated their ‘Arc Pride’ by holding handmade signs while cheering and applauding the football team.
