A recent visit to Sunview Elementary provided for a fun and interactive learning environment, all courtesy of several readers from the Cleveland Association of Black Storytellers
. Designed to perpetuate Black Storytelling and pass along the tradition of oral communication to share cultural history and values, four members from this organization visited Sunview because of a family relationship with one of our first grade students. Darlene Bostick, who is a retired teacher, led the storytelling which captivated the building’s elementary students. A total of 5 folk tales were shared with the students, each one ending with a moral that students can apply to their own life. We thank Darlene and her colleagues for spending time with our students.
