Sunview Stuffs Stockings for Soldiers for Fifth Straight Year

Students at Sunview Elementary School have worked collaboratively and compassionately to collect 130 stockings filled with a variety of items to send to our US troops serving overseas. For the fifth consecutive year, elementary teacher Mrs. Jaime Bloom has partnered with DeJohn Funeral Home who sponsors the event, to gather items such as playing cards, snack items, footballs, socks and other toiletries, to stuff into stockings and send to soldiers who have no families. Mrs. Bloom’s husband, Rick, works at DeJohn Funeral Home and helped to create the concept for students to participate. A special thank you goes out to the students, their families and Principal Taylor for helping this special program to succeed at Sunview Elementary School for the last five years.

SEL Brown & Gold Benefit: Night at the Races

The SEL Brown & Gold Benefit is a huge event that raises funds for a variety of organizations in the district.   Money raised helps support grant requests and special projects submitted by teachers, staff, PTAs and other organizations within the district. Raised funds also help with athletic equipment and support; band instruments, lessons and other related expenses, as well as scholarship funds for deserving Brush High School Seniors.

We are very excited about our Night at the Races event this year, being held on Saturday, March 14, 2015.  Please join us for the races, as well as the silent auction. We depend on your support to make this event a success. For more information, click here.

The World Would Be a Better Place If...

Join us from 6-8 PM tonight (Friday, 12/5/14), in the Brush High School Library, to see how our students creatively finished this sentence:

"The world would be a better place if..."

National PTA's Reflections program encourages students in pre-K through grade 12 to explore and be involved in the arts. Students reflect on the theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, music composition, literature, photography and visual arts.

Refreshments will be served.
