To celebrate being named the Fox-8 News “Cool School” of the Week, Sunview Elementary hosted a Jump Rope for Heart Kickoff Event as part of the annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Fox-8 News was present to capture the excitement and showcase why Sunview is such a “Cool School.” Tune in to the morning broadcast of Fox-8 News on Thursday, March 30th during the 6:30 a.m. show to see the coverage from Fox-8 News’ visit to Sunview. The segment will be replayed during the 4 PM broadcast on the same day. Additionally, two students, Matilda Averre and Jaxon Gregory II, will be featured on the Fox-8 News in the Morning “Coffee Quiz” segment on Thursday, March 30th. Congratulations to Sunview students and staff for showing what it means to be an Arc.
NHS Blood Drive image NHS Blood Drive
The Brush National Honor Society will be working with the American Red Cross to sponsor a spring blood drive on Thursday, April 13th at Charles F. Brush High School.  Traditionally, the National Honor Society sponsors two blood drives each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Students, staff, and community members are encouraged to donate blood; every donation can save up to three lives! Students who are 16 or older on the day of the blood drive are eligible to donate. Those individuals who are 16 can donate with a signed permission slip; those who are 17 and older can donate without having a signed permission slip. Potential donors are encouraged to drink lots of water and eat foods high in iron during the days leading up to the blood drive. If a student is dehydrated or low on iron, they will not be permitted to donate. If you are interested in donating, please contact Jill Strainic (strainic@sel.k12.oh.us) or Stacey Bram (bram@sel.k12.oh.us).

The SEL schools will be closed on 4/17 due to a Professional Development day that will train staff on extending the use of interactive technology in the classroom. More specifically, SEL staff will learn additional ways to further engage students in the classroom, while also enhancing their ability to use technology for the purpose of teaching and learning through a variety of G-Suite applications and other educational software. The SEL schools remain committed to keeping their promise to the students, families and all stakeholders as we continue to abide by our Strategic Plan and our vision to be “The Destination School Community”.
